Sales of individual Critical Illness policies continue to grow

Sales of individual critical illness policies are going from strength to strength according to figures from re-assurer ERC Frankona.


The figures for 1998 reveal a 7 per cent increase to xxx in new individual policies sold from the previous year.


There are now nearly 2.3m policies in force which represents a market penetration of 8 per cent of the working population. It is also more than double the penetration achieved by individual income protection contracts.


Frankona&#39s figure suggest IFAs are maintaining their market share accounting for approximately a third of all sales.
