RSM Bentley Jennison managing partner Tony Stockdale says the acquisition is the firm’s third deal since January and is part of its strategy to become a top 10 firm within four years.
He says: “This is an important acquisition for RSM Bentley Jennison as it strengthens our position in the Midlands region. Wenham Major is a long established, well respected firm with an excellent client base, and we look forward to serving them as part of our growing portfolio of premium-level clients.
“There has been some speculation about some parts of Wenham Major in recent weeks but the core audit accounts and tax compliance business is strong and credible and we are pleased to be able to integrate this operation into RSM Bentley Jennison.”
In January, RSM Bentley Jennison moved to a new London office before buying the Chancery Group in April, making it the UK’s fifth-biggest financial manage-ment division of an accounting-based firm.
In March, it set up a new corporate restructuring division with a team from Begbies Traynor.
Stockdale says RSM Bentley Jennison plans to continue its growth. He says: “On average, we double in scale every four years. We do this through organic growth and growth by acquisition. We plan to continue this development by building on our good quality client base.”
