R&SA in internet admin for IFAs

Royal & Sun Alliance is launching a series of initiatives designed to guide IFAs through stakeholder pensions, including education packs and an online administration tool.

The company says the packs are designed to tell IFAs everything they need to know about the new pensions.

The pack contains a series of A3 flyers including sales aids and information sheets for IFAs to use for research before meeting employers considering setting up stakeholder schemes for their staff.

Included in the packs are key facts on stakeholder, information on basic schemes including contribution levels and who is eligible, plus a detailed explanation of the revised carryback and carry-forward rules.

The online pension admin tool Pensions Solutions is being introduced gradually for R&SA&#39s own admin staff, IFAs, employers with stakeholder schemes and employees who are members of a scheme.

The first part going live this month is for IFAs and is designed to help them keep track of stakeholder schemes they are advising on.

This will be extended to employers and employees in schemes but IFAs will be able to control what information they can access and make changes to. The online service allows R&SA, IFAs and clients to make contact by email.

Corporate promotions leader Andy Milburn says: “The production of the stakeholder education pack and the forthcoming launch of our internet-based pension administration tool further reinforces our commitment to making life easier for IFAs.”

The proposal, contained in the Treasury&#39s consultation paper, Standards for Retail Financial Products, is seen by some industry experts as a radical and worrying progression from Cat-marking of products but the Consumers&#39 Association not only supports […]

Spring has sprung

Well, it’s been lovely to see a little bit of sunshine, even if it was only a brief appearance. I live in Scotland so, believe me, it was very brief.  Of course, with even the tiniest hint of spring, thoughts turn to the inevitable clearout that must take place.  And that got me to thinking […]
