Rowanmoor appoints senior consultant

Rowanmoor Pensions has appointed former Clerical Medical senior account manager Mark Randell as senior consultant.

Randell will provide consultancy and support services to Rowanmoor’s professional adviser partners in the eastern area of the southern region.

He will be based in Fareham with a remit encompassing core Rowanmoor Pensions’ products, including the Ssas and family pension trust.

Before Clerical Medical, Randell was a senior account manager at Scottish Widows and has more than sixteen years’ consultancy, broking and sales experience in the pensions and investment arenas.

He started out as a broker consultant at Zurich IFA Group and has worked at Scottish Mutual and Canada Life International.

Rowanmoor managing director Ian Hammond says: “Mark is a very experienced consultant and has an immense understanding of the pensions and investment markets and the need of advisers working in these areas.

“He brings with him a proven track record in new business development which will support our drive to remain the premier provider of member-directed pension schemes in the UK.”

Heads in the sand

During a recent BBC interview, Gordon Brown responded to questioning by glossing over the issues and replying that the slump in the UK housing market is “containable” and the country is better placed to cope than in previous slowdowns.
