Roberts leaves Aviva to join Gartmore

Dan Roberts, an equity income manager at Aviva, is leaving the group. He will join Gartmore in mid-July, where he will lead manage the £137m Gartmore UK Equity Income fund.

Chris Burvill, current manager of Gartmore UK Equity Income, will focus purely on his £639m Gartmore Cautious Managed fund.

The £471.7m Aviva UK Equity Income fund will be handed to Chris Murphy, Roberts’ co-manager.

Roberts took over the fund in August 2005. Under his tenure it fell 18.4% against the Investment Management Association (IMA) Equity Income sector average fall of 29.3%, ranking it fourth out of 264 funds.

Roberts has previously held a position as a UK institutional equity fund manager at Invesco, and was also an analyst at M&G.
