RLAM head of UK equities Jane Coffey departs

Royal London Asset Management head of UK equities Jane Coffey has left after 11 years at the firm.

In January, RLAM said it was “in discussions” with Coffey about her future at the asset manager after the firm changed the way it runs its Japanese and Far Eastern equity funds.

The £487.4m Royal London Far East fund and the £299.8m Royal London Japan Growth fund, as well as £360m in separately managed assets in these regions, were changed to be run on a passive rather than active basis.

Fund managers Edward Chan and Jonathan McClure departed in January following the change.

RLAM fund manager Ivor Pether will take over management of the RLAM UK Equity Fund from Coffey. The firm says all equity fund managers will report to chief investment officer Robert Talbut.

An RLAM spokesman says says: “Royal London Asset Management confirms that Jane Coffey has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests. We would like to thank Jane for her contribution to the success of the company and wish her well for the future.”
