RK Shipman acquires C&M Financial Services

Insurance and wealth management specialist RK Shipman has acquired C&M Financial Services.

Exeter-based RK Shipman has acquired the advisory firm for an undisclosed sum.

According to C&MFS manager Chris Marsham, RK Shipman piped a number of large firms to the post in acquiring the Bovey Tracey-based IFA firm.

He says: “Although I have received some interesting offers from a number of large firms, I was not satisfied that these would satisfy the criteria I had set out. Having met RK Shipman, I found a firm with a similar philosophy and business ethos that my clients expect. I was able to sell the business safe in the knowledge that my clients’ interests would not only be protected but enhanced.”

RK Shipman managing director Peter Ellis says the financial specialist is now looking forward to a “beneficial” future with the IFA firm.

He says: “Our business is based on trust, confidence and respect and we were able to assure Chris that his clients would receive the very best possible advice which is reflected in RK Shipman’s financial planning process and experience.”
