Rifkind leaves Work and Pensions role

Sir Malcolm Rifkind has walked out on his role as shadow Work and Pensions Secretary after not being offered the Foreign Affairs brief in the shadow Cabinet reshuffle.

Rifkind took on the Work and Pensions brief after May’s election and found his feet in the role after a quiet first few months, recently tabling a Private Members Bill to introduce a Savings and Retirement Account based around the concept of Isas.
