Richardson joins Resolution

Resolution Asset Management has appointed Neil Richardson as deputy head of UK equities.

Richardson joins from Citigroup Global Markets where he was director of pan-European research. He will report to Resolution director and chief investment officer for UK equities Peter Reid.

During a 20-year career in financial services, Richardson has also worked for Edinburgh Fund Managers and Allied Dunbar.

Resolution chief executive Gavin Stewart says: “We are delighted to have attracted someone of Neil’s calibre to the UK team. His range of experience from both the sell and buy sides of the industry will be invaluable in helping us meet our objectives as we enter a period of extensive corporate expansion. These are exciting times for the business and Neil’s appointment is only the first in a series of major developments we expect to announce in the months ahead.”

The appointment comes as Resolution prepares to rebrand alongside Axial Investment Management under the Ignis name. The newly formed £75bn asset management business will become the umbrella for the group’s fund management operations from November and is part of its ambitions to become a top five player in UK asset management.
