RGA UK announces raft of new appointments

RGA has appointed David Gulland as its new managing director of RGA UK.

Gulland, currently assistant general manager for finance, will replace Enda Murphy, who moves to executive vice president for RGA Continental Europe.

Murphy will continue to be responsible for RGA International Reinsurance as managing director.

The reinsurer has also appointed RGA UK head of pricing and research functions Hamish Galloway as its new senior vice president of non-traditional and annuity business, reporting to Gulland.

Guy Poliquin has been appointed as senior vice president for international group business.

RGA International Corporation chairman and chief executive Graham Watson says: “The UK team will continue its current strategy of focusing on all major lines of business including individual protection, group life, enhanced annuity, bulk annuity and capital motivated business.”


Lighthouse back in profit

Lighthouse Group made a profit of £56,000 for the first half of this year, down from £442,000 profit in the first half of last year but a turn-round from losses of £8.5m at the end of 2008.
