Religious cult object to annuities

Religious sect the Christian Brethren is lobbying the Government to allow an alternative to annuities as it objects to pooling funds with non-Christian Brethren.

Responding to the sect&#39s concerns Treasury financial secretary Ruth Kelly says the DWP consultation will look at alternative ways of turning pension savings into income in retirement that replicate annuitisation without pooling funding.
