RCM’s White joins BlackRock as head of investment trusts

RCM’s head of investment trusts Simon White has joined BlackRock in the same position, after more than two decades with the company.

At BlackRock, White will be responsible for the business management and development of BlackRock’s range of investment trusts.

White joins after a 26-year career at RCM, and was appointed head of investment trusts in 1997. He will report to Jonathan Ruck Keene, who has been named as head of closed-end funds EMEA.

Ruck Keene will oversee BlackRock’s closed-end sales and marketing teams and lead its new business development strategy.

Jonathan Ruck Keene said: “BlackRock’s listed funds business has grown significantly in recent years to become one of the leading players in the investment company sector.

“Simon’s appointment is part of BlackRock’s commitment to build on this success, and continue to develop our offering.”

He said the implementation of the Retail Distribution Review and the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive was “likely to have a significant, and positive impact on the closed ended funds sector” with the appointment of White helping to grow its business.
