Raise money for the bears

Money Marketing reporter Nicole Blackmore is running in the Virgin Money London Marathon on April 25 to raise money for Animals Asia.

The charity was founded by British campaigner Jill Robinson and its main focus is ending bear farming, which uses barbaric methods of extracting bile from bears’ gall bladders. The bears are kept in tiny cages and subjected to a lifetime of physical and mental torture. Animals Asia is working with governments to put an end to bear farming and since October 2000 it has rescued more than 245 bears. It runs rescue centres in Chengdu in China and Tam Dao in Vietnam, where the bears are nursed back to health and allowed to live their lives without fear or suffering.
