Dealing in the Quilter Global Enhanced Income Trust has been suspended, with the trust's management saying they do not expect any capital to be repaid to investors.
The suspension, after the trust became insolvent, is a further blow to the split capital trust sector that has been under media scrutiny for cross investments in recent weeks.
AITC communications director Annabel Brodie-Smith says: “There are going to be a number of funds which return almost no capital to their shareholders. And there are another group which will have a future but have an awful lot to do. But an awful lot of trusts are not affected and are looking extremely good value or even cheap.”
