Quilter Cheviot has appointed Matthieu Duncan as chief operating officer.
Duncan was previously head of business strategy at Newton Investment Management and also chief investment officer of equities for Cambridge Place Investment Management.
Prior to this, Duncan was managing director at Goldman Sachs.
Quilter Cheviot chief executive Martin Baines says: “Matthieu’s appointment recognises the huge strides the business has already taken, with the successful integration of the former Quilter and Cheviot businesses making Quilter Cheviot one of the largest independently owned investment management firms in the UK.
“The addition of Matthieu to the business will bring further expertise and experience which will be essential if we are to realise our growth plans.”
Duncan says: “I am delighted to be joining Quilter Cheviot at such an exciting time and look forward to being part of the future success of the business.”
PMI Independent Financial Advisers director John Stewart says: “It seems strange that Quilter Cheviot did not promote someone from within, but maybe they wanted a fresh pair of eyes to give the business a new perspective on things.”
