Mayne worked at Britannic Money until June 2003 and then set up his own consultancy called Smart Compliance Solutions which he ran for 18 months. He advised lenders and mortgage intermediaries in the lead-up to mortgage regulation, including Purely Mortgages.
Mayne will report to Purely Chief executive Mark Chilton. Chilton says: “James has been an integral member of the Purely team since our initial FSA application back in April and he has been instrumental in developing our systems and processes in line with the demands of the FSA. I am very pleased to appoint him a director.”
Mayne says: “We are at the beginning of a very exciting business at a time when regulation is having a huge effect on the way that firms conduct their business. With brand new systems and a transparent approach, I believe that we are extremely well placed not just to meet the demands of the FSA but also to lead the market.”
