Prudential poised to boost dividend

Prudential is set to increase its interim dividend when it announces its half year results on Thursday, according to reports.

An improved pay-out would follow decisions by Legal & General and Aviva to slash dividends by 45 per cent and 31 per cent respectively.

It is also expected to help prolong a stock market rally which saw the FTSE close at a 10 month high on Friday.
