Pru appointed joint AVC provider for West Yorkshire pension fund

Prudential has been appointed as joint AVC provider for the West Yorkshire Pension Fund.

The WYPF has over 92,000 active members in England and Wales and is one of the largest Local Government Pension Schemes.

Prudential now administers 60 such schemes, making up 60 per cent of the 99 Local Government Administering schemes.

WYPF director Stuart Imeson says: “When selecting an administrator, a strong track record, good communications, cost and great service are key. Prudential has demonstrated all of these aspects and we look forward to the addition of Prudential as an additional AVC provider to supplement and give added choice to our existing AVC provider.”

Prudential director of public sector pensions, Richard Harrison says: “Securing a scheme of this size and quality reinforces our strong presence in the AVC market. Prudential believes that AVC facilities are an integral part of the New-Look pension schemes in England and Wales.”
