Protection Review expands into retirement income market

Industry organisation Protection Review has expanded into the retirement income market with the launch of Retirement Review.

The new body will adopt a similar role to Protection Review, providing commentary and research as well as hosting events around the retirement income industry.

The first event to be hosted by Retirement Review wil feature speakers including FCA director of policy David Geale, The Pensions Advisory Service chief executive Michelle Cracknell, Square Mile managing director Richard Romer-Lee and Retirement Intelligence director Billy Burrows.

Retirement Review director and former Money Marketing editor John Lappin says: “This year the retirement income market will see some of the biggest changes ever applied to the financial services industry.

“We aim to provide a forum for independent and influential commentary and debate about the market, focused on consumer outcomes as well as the industry requirements.”

Protection Review co-chairman Peter Le Beau says: “We have been looking at markets beyond protection for some time and I’m delighted to announce the launch of Retirement Review.

“The retirement industry is going through monumental change and in John we have someone with expert knowledge and background in place to lead this new direction.”
