Cordatus Partners Limited the specialist real estate investment management firm has launched into the UK market.
The company aims to have £500m of assets under management by 2012.
The Edinburgh-based company specialises in UK commercial real estate investment management and aims to launch a special opportunities trust, focusing on the acquisition of UK commercial property assets with the potential for value to be added.
The objective is to raise approximately £50m of equity, with the ability for the trust to gear up to 75 per cent. The trust will be largely targeting institutional invsetors.
Over the next five years, Cordatus plans to launch between three and five new funds which will be specialist in sector, geography or style. The aim is to have £500m of assets under management within five years.
Cordatus is being headed up by Peter Arthur, chairman, Tom Laidlaw, chief executive, Mike Channing, director, Michael Cunningham, director and supported by Alex Porte as finance director. All directors are shareholders in Cordatus and bring over 60 years property experience.
