Pro Life to rebrandas Skandia

Professional Life is to be brought under the Skandia Life pension brand in the new year because of changes in the pension market.

Professional Life products are traditionally fee-based and offer low charges but because of the introduction of lower pricing structures, especially stakeholder, the pricing gap between the two groups&#39 products has narrowed and there is now very little difference between them.

The move to rebrand, expected to come into effect from January 1, 2001, is awaiting High Court approval. Skandia says the rebranding will not alter any of the product terms or fund choices available to the 17,000 policyholders.

IFAs will still deal with the same regional sales consultants and customer service contacts. Skandia says admin will not be affected. Professional Life&#39s group FSAVC, individual personal retirement accounts and trustee retirement accounts will be closed to new business but Skandia Life will offer these products.

Pensions brand manager Peter Jordan says: “The move will mean greater efficiency in terms of service.”
