Premier Asset Management has promoted Chris White to head of UK equities while senior investment manager Simon King has left the firm, Money Marketing’s sister title Fundweb can reveal.
White, who manages the £344m Premier Income and £170m Premier Monthly Income funds, has been with the asset manager since 2010, joining from Threadneedle.
A statement by the group says: “This change signals a move to a more team-based approach for Premier’s UK equity fund range.”
The firm’s UK equity fund range includes income and growth portfolios managed by White, Alex Ross’ Premier Pan European Property Share fund and Chris Wright’s Premier Ethical fund and Premier Optimum Income fund.
Meanwhile, King has left Premier to pursue other opportunities. White will manage his £75m Premier UK Growth and the £36m Premier UK Mid 250 funds on a temporary basis until a new manager is found.
Earlier this year, Premier merged and renamed two of Simon King’s UK equity funds owing to their similar aims and the resultant economies of scale.
The Premier UK Alpha Growth and £58.3m Premier UK Strategic Growth funds became Premier UK Growth in April.
