Pre-Budget – Isas to run to 2009

Chancellor Gordon Brown says the Treasury will consult on extending the 7,000 Isa tax break for a further five years.

Brown says the Isa tax break – which had been set to be abolished from next year – will now be extended until 2009. The 3,000 cash Isa allowance will also be extended until 2009.
