Cowan and Rennison will join former FSA head of media Rob McIvor, former Lloyds TSB group corporate affairs director Mary Walsh and former Barclays adviser Maria Darby-Walker as part of the taskforce.
The team, supported by other senior executives, will devise strategies for Polhill’s client bank and provide advice and planning on strategy implementation.
Other members include former European Bank for Reconstruction and Development consultant Ian Ashcroft and former journalist Mike Tate.
Polhill director Andrew Sharkey says: “This is a significant shift away from the stereotypical consultancy that listens to what clients tell them, repackages their thoughts and then regurgitates this as original thinking for a substantial fee.
“There will be no formulaic step process, as the needs of each client are different. There is, of course, a rigorous pro- cess underlying the way in which the consultants work and certain aspects of a programme will be similar across organisations.”
“Change management and the internal and external issues that are facing companies undergoing this process will be a continuing theme over the coming years, especially given the current upheaval in the global economy.”
