Polar launches emerging equity income fund

Polar Capital has launched an emerging markets income fund for the emerging market equity team it hired from Axa Framlington in October.

William Calvert, who heads up the team, will manage the fund, alongside Ming Kemp and Neil Denman.
Polar says the fund will focus on the growth of domestic emerging market economies, but will invest in companies of many different sizes and in a number of sectors and countries.

Concern has grown over emerging market income funds in recent weeks as some of them have taken large holdings in smaller countries, partly to boost their yield for investors.
