Plimsoll aid to buying or selling firms

A new website aimed at IFAs looking to make acquisitions or sell their firms has been set up at www.whatcompany.co.uk by Plimsoll Publishing.

Plimsoll, which researches the performance of the IFA sector, says there are many firms on the acquisition trail.

It believes the site will help owners of IFA firms gain a better understanding of what their company is worth and analyse the best options.

The service provides valuations of companies, locates and examines firms and offers a full study of 1,593 IFA firms. The service has a fee of £600.

Acquisitions manager David Pattison says: “The idea for the website and the buying or selling service came from a great deal of interest we were receiving from companies keen to go on the acquisition trail.

“Yet they did not have a simple, cost-effective means of assessing what companies to go after. I knew we could offer a real insight into specific companies that our clients could target. Now prior to calling in the professionals, owners can take a good look at the possibilities themselves.”
