Platform raises cash for kids&#39 dream holidays

Platform Home Loans has raised £3,000 for Dreamflights, the UK charity devoted to sending seriously ill children on a holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida.

The money was raised at Platform&#39s annual golfing event, which was held in Le Touquet, France at the beginning of July and a cheque was presented last week.

Players were asked to report each other&#39s indiscretions and misdemeanours on the course. Fines were then levied against offenders for incidents including one player who injured himself dancing too vigorously at the disco so he couldn&#39t play the next day and another who managed to find the same water cover from two different tees.

The fines raised £1,500 while the other £1,500 came from The Mortgage Operation managing director Mark Charlesworth, who bid for two fly and dine flights to Le Touquet with Lydd Air.

Platform Home Loans head of sales Jeremy Duncombe says: “We&#39re delighted to donate this money to Dreamflights. Over the two days we had a lot of fun raising a lot of money for a worthy cause. We even hijacked a lone Frenchman on the course who simply could not refuse joining one of the teams for a whole round.”
