Platform distribution head Platt leaves Zurich

Zurich Financial Services head of platform distribution Jaki Platt has left after a year in the role.

Last week, Moneymarketing.co.uk revealed Platt, who joined Zurich as area sales director in July 2009 and became head of platform distribution in April last year, has left for “personal reasons”.

The spokeswoman added that Zurich is “reviewing the team structure to ensure that we have the right framework in place to ensure a successful roll-out of our platform proposition”.

The company was due to launch its retail platform in the final quarter last year but has delayed the launch until the second quarter this year.

The spokeswoman says: “This is a hugely complex build and while it has taken longer than originally targeted, it is important we get it right and launch when we are absolutely ready. We are confident the platform proposition will be well received by the market.”

CWC Research managing director Clive Waller says: “I cannot understand why there is a delay to the platform launch as Zurich is using FNZ, which is good and the process should be straightforward. When you delay the launch, you delay building partnerships with IFAs.”
