Phil Jeynes joins UnderwriteMe

Former PruProtect and VitalityLife head of account development Phil Jeynes has been appointed head of sales and marketing at protection technology firm UnderwriteMe.

Jeynes had been in his previous role for just under four years, joining PruProtect in January 2011. Prior to that he served as head of new business for Direct Life & Pension Services.

He has also previously worked in the mortgage industry at The Mortgage Lender, where he served as mortgage officer.

In his new position, Jeynes will be responsible for launching the UnderwriteMe protection comparison service and will report directly to chief executive Martin Werth.

Jeynes says: “What UnderwriteMe has built is groundbreaking and will transform the customer and adviser experience, giving a boost to the protection market. The opportunity to join them to spearhead the launch and evolve the proposition is very exciting.”

Werth adds: “We have ambitious plans for 2015 and beyond and needed someone with unrivalled industry knowledge, enthusiasm and drive to complement our team. Phil fits the bill perfectly.”



Steve Webb ‘sceptical’ about bigger role for income protection

Pensions minister Steve Webb says he is “sceptical” about a larger role for income protection in supplementing state benefits provision.
