Phil Billingham launches compliance support ‘run by planners for planners’

The Phil Billingham Partnership has launched a compliance support service for financial planning firms.

Rachel Birch is joining as head of compliance having previously served as compliance manager for a Bristol-based Paradigm Norton Financial Planning. Birch holds qualifications as both a chartered and certified financial planner.

PBP director Phil Billingham says the implementation of the RDR has created a mismatch between the business model of financial planning firms and the model that many compliance consultancies are auditing against.

Billingham says: “In the past this was merely an irritation. It has now become a real source of frustration, a real business problem in many firms.

“This service will be run by financial planners, for financial planners. This makes it uniquely focused and added value.”

Birch adds: “I have long been passionate about the added value that informed compliance and risk management can bring to financial planning firms, and I am delighted to be joining PBP in order to provide this service to a wider range of firms.”

PBP director Susan Jordan says: “We have waited until we had the right resources in place to offer this service and are delighted that Rachel has decided to join us.”
