Perchard is the first to be appointed to the role since the PFS introduced the position at the 2008 AGM.
PFS president Paul Lothian says: “I am extremely pleased to welcome Teresa to the PFS board. Teresa has a long and distinguished career in consumer affairs and I believe she will be a great asset to the Society and its members.”
Perchard adds: “I am delighted to have joined the board of the Personal Finance Society as its first lay director. The PFS has worked closely with Citizens Advice to deliver the Moneyplan service, where financial advisers work pro bono for local Bureaux.
“We are in anxious times and consumers need advice on financial matters they can trust more than ever before. There is a major challenge to improve consumer confidence in the current financial services market and I look forward to working within the PFS who are playing their part in this area by helping members to improve their skills and professionalism.”
