Perception sets up workshops for supervisors

Perception Support is hosting two training workshops for supervisors in London and Birmingham in April.

The Competent Supervisor workshop is a two-day intensive session aimed at training and assessing those new to a supervisory role.

It will address all areas that the FSA expects such staff to cover, including the training & competence rulebook, monitoring and assessment, coaching skills, feedback and the training process. The workshops will be held in Birmingham on April 15-16 and in London on April 21-22.

The Supervisor Refresher is a one-day workshop to help advisers update their knowledge of the supervisory role and refresh skills in areas such as coaching, assessment and feedback.

Perception Support says this is ideal for experienced supervisors, managers and compliance monitoring staff who want to brush up on their knowledge and skills. It will take place in Birmingham on April 14 and in London on April 20.

Chief executive officer Phil Billingham says supervision is where “the rubber meets the road” in an IFA practice. He says: “If you take any element of a business, effective supervision is what makes it happen. This includes maintaining and increasing adviser competence, embedding TCF and sharing best practice.”
