People on the move: Mortgages

Nationwide has appointed Andy McQueen as divisional director for mortgages and savings. McQueen, who replaces Matthew Carter, was previously divisional director of specialist lending, covering both The Mortgage Works and the building society’s former intermediary arm UCB Home Loans. He will be responsible for the creation and marketing of all mortgage and savings products.

Simon White, the former director of the now defunct Ashdown Lyons, has launched a new surveyor called London’s Chartered Surveyors and Valuers. Based in London’s Pall Mall, White’s new firm will look to service the same customer base that he worked with at Ashdown Lyons Mayfair. Ray Clune, formerly a senior surveyor at Ashdown Lyons Mayfair, joins White as a director at the new surveyor.

LeadPoint has appointed Emma Smith and Keri Butler as it looks to expand its business. Smith has joined the corporate development team, which is responsible for recruiting and managing lead suppliers, and Butler has joined as an account manager to work with new and existing lead buyers.

Paul Munford has bought up the remaining 50 per cent of Purely Mortgages as he plans to deregulate the Mortgage Centre IFA. Mortgage Centre IFA will continue to offer commercial and investment lending but only Purely Mortgages will remain as a regulated adviser, trading as an appointed representative under Mortgage Intelligence.
