Jupiter Asset Management has hired Investec’s John Tenevan as sales director for global financial institutions. Tenevan will join Jupiter in May 2010 and the new role will see him responsible for helping develop relationships among global wealth management businesses.
Barings Asset Management has appointed Roberto Lampl as head of Latin American equity. The newly created position will see Lampl and his team responsible for all segregated and pooled products across the region. Barings currently has £11.6bn of assets in the emerging markets space, including £1.1bn in Latin America.
Former Liontrust star managers Jeremy Lang and William Pattisson are to launch their own asset management boutique this autumn. The new boutique is to be called Ardevora Asset Management and will focus on long/short UK and global portfolios with absolute return targets. Lang and Pattisson will also hire two fund managers to run money alongside them.
Mark Palmer has joined Legg Mason Global Asset Management as director of business development for the UK. Palmer was formerly at Fidelity International where he was a sales director responsible for developing relationships with life and platform businesses.
LaSalle Investment Management has appointed Susan Lloyd-Hurwit to the new role of managing director, Europe. Lloyd-Hurwitz will be responsible for shaping LaSalle’s business strategy as well as looking at opportunities to grow the business. She will also have executive responsibility for the core investment accounts and funds business. Lloyd-Hurwitz is also set to become the latest member of LaSalle’s nine person global management committee.
GLG co-head of the UK equity business Jason MacKay is to leave the company at the end of the year. MacKay wants to spend more time with his family but will take on a consulting role with the company.
