Cofunds has appointed ex-Axa Elevate managing director Paul McMahon as strategy director on an initial six-month contract.
McMahon was most recently UK chief executive of platform provider FNZ but left the role in March 2013 after less than a year. Prior to FNZ, he was group marketing director at Aegon.
Jupiter is creating a new position for Standard Life Investments’ Ross Teverson.
Teverson, who has spent 15 years at Standard Life, will join Jupiter in November as head of strategy, global emerging markets. In the new role, he will lead Jupiter’s team of emerging market fund managers, comprising Philip Ehrmann, Kathryn Langridge, Avinash Vazirani, Ben Surtees and Colin Croft. His task will be to attract and grow assets under management globally and develop products.
Morningstar Investment Management EMEA has appointed Dan Kemp to co-lead its investment consulting and portfolio management team with senior investment consultant Robin Johnson.
Kemp, who has 17 years’ experience in research, investment management and investment consulting, joins from Albemarle Street Partners, an investment consultancy partnership that he co-founded in 2012. His responsibilities at Morningstar will include overseeing and supporting the firm’s managed discretionary portfolio service.
Charles Stanley has recruited Paul Abberley as chief investment officer. Abberley was recently acting chief executive of Aviva Investors and a member of Aviva Group’s executive committee. He worked at Aviva from 2008 and previously spent eight years at ABN AMRO Asset Management, where he was chief investment officer for the company’s fixed income and investment solutions division. He was also chairman of the firm’s London board and a member of the global executive management team.
Skandia head of protection, product and pricing Gower Wisdom has been appointed the firm’s product director. Wisdom joined Skandia in 2011 and has spent the past decade within the Old Mutual group across various departments, including product, finance and risk management.
In his new role, Wisdom takes responsibility for developing Skandia’s customer proposition, including product and pricing strategy for its UK, international and continental Europe business.
Countrywide has appointed Bupa’s Alison Platt to replace Grenville Turner as group chief executive. Platt has spent more than 20 years at Bupa in a range of senior roles, including chief operating officer for its UK private hospitals business, and deputy managing director in its UK insurance business.
She was recently managing director of Bupa’s UK, Europe and North American division. Platt will take over from Turner on 1 September, subject to FCA approval.
Mike Hardy has joined Key Group as sales director of its annuity broking referral service, Annuity People. Hardy, who joins from The Open Market Annuity Service, has worked with Prudential, Park Row and Wentworth Rose.
