Peter Izard has joined Saffron Building Society as head of mortgages. Izard was previously corporate accounts manager at GMAC-RFC and Portillion and will be responsible for mortgages for the mutual’s intermediary and branch distribution channels.
HSBC Global Asset Management UK has appointed Andy Clark as chief executive, replacing Simeon Brown. Clark joined HSBC as a head of UK retail and last year was named regional head of wholesale for Europe, Middle-East and Africa.
Chris Day has stepped down as Chief Executive for Merchant House Group with immediate effect. Merchant House Managing Director James Keane will be assuming the Chief Executive Role. Day will remain on the board of Merchant Capital, the company’s structured products arm.
Legal & General key account Director Peter Smith has retired after more than 35 years with the provider. Smith worked within various roles on the intermediary side of the business and has been working within the financial services industry since 1968.
Paradigm Group has appointed Lothar Mentel as chief Investment officer. He joins the group from Octopus Investments and will head development at the firms’ new investment management business Tatton, launching later this year.
Jim Reeve has joined accountancy and tax support firm 2020 as a director. Reeve was former chief executive at Positive Solutions until he resigned from the role in February and launched consultancy firm Signature Private Clients in July.
Daniel Godfrey is to join the Investment Management Association as chief executive from 1 December, replacing Richard Saunders. Godfrey was previously the Association of Investment Companies director-general.
The British Bankers’ Association are to appoint Sir Nigel Wicks as chairman. Wicks is currently the chairman of the board of directors for Euroclear and a non-executive director of the Edinburgh Investment Trust.
