Friends Life chairman Sir Malcolm Williamson (pictured) has been appointed chairman of Resolution, taking over from Mike Biggs as a part of the streamlining of the group’s corporate structure. Williamson will take over when the boards of Friends Life and Resolution merge, expected to take place at the end of March.
Invesco Perpetual chief executive James Robertson has decided to retire at the end of this year due to health reasons. Head of the institutional business Mark Armour is expected to replace Robertson, taking over responsibilities as head of the EMEA region.
Building Societies Association director-general Adrian Coles is stepping down from his post later this year after 20 years in office. Coles, who was made an OBE in 2011, says while he has continued to enjoy his time at the trade body now is the right time for him to develop his career.
