Axa UK has appointed Ian Brimecome as chairman, replacing Anthony Hamilton, who is retiring. Brimecome joined Axa in 2007 as UK non-executive director and took on the new role at the end of last month.

Sesame Bankhall Group executive chairman Ivan Martin (pictured) is leaving the group. Martin became executive chairman of Sesame in June 2007 and was appointed as executive chairman in October 2009, following Sesame’s acquisition of support services and businesses Bankhall and PMS. Non-executive director John Cowan will take on Ivan’s role on an interim basis.

Paul McMahon (pictured) has stepped down as chief executive of FNZ UK. Guy Warren has been named as his replacement.


McMahon joined FNZ in October last year to head up its UK business after quitting his role as Aegon group marketing director in May. Warren has replaced McMahon with immediate effect.

Threadneedle Investments has appointed global head of product Nick Ring as head of distribution. He replaces Campbell Fleming, who became the asset manager’s chief executive last month.

Standard Life Wealth chief investment officer Eddy Reynolds has been appointed to the newly-created role of head of adviser and investment proposition. He will oversee platform and business support services provided to the UK adviser market, as well as Standard Life’s investment proposition.

Gaius Jones has been appointed as Ashcourt Rowan Financial Planning chief executive, replacing Chris Williams. He will report to Ashcourt Rowan group chief executive Jonathan Polin and will be in charge of management and development of the firm’s financial planning business.

Tenet head of financial planning services Jackie Ison and finance director Mark Youngman have been made redundant from their roles. Ison has been with Tenet since September 2011 while Youngman had been with the network since January 2008.

Brewin Dolphin’s Harry Burnham is to join the board of Ashcourt Rowan Asset Management.

The Pensions Regulator chief executive Bill Gavin is to depart from his role to become group chief executive of the Universities Superannuation Scheme. He will leave his current position at the end of June.
