Skandia has appointed two protection specialists for its wealth planning team. Colin Betts joins from the Royal London Group where he was head of sales training for Bright Grey and Scottish Provident. Nathalie Claeys joins from Legal and General where she was protection and development manager.
Martin Davis, the former chief executive of Cofunds has become chief executive of Kames Capital. Davis left Cofunds in May and was replaced by Chris Last. Last, who retires at the end of this month, will be replaced at Cofunds by the firm’s managing director of operational services David Hobbs.
Old Mutual Wealth has announced new roles for two members of its executive committee. Managing director for the UK market Peter Mann becomes vice chairman and managing director for international markets Steven Levin becomes global head of distribution.
Sustainable and responsible investment specialist Amanda Young has become head of SRI at Standard Life Investments. She spent the last five years as SRI officer at Newton Investment Management. Analysts Rebecca Maclean and Alix Chosson also join Standard Life Investments as SRI Managers.
London-based fund manager City Financial has recruited fund research specialists Peter Toogood and Gill Hutchison. They join from Morningstar OBSR, where they worked together since 2003.
Fund manager Ugo Montrucchio will join Schroders in January. He leaves his role as director and portfolio manager at BlackRock Multi-asset Group to become portfolio manager at Schroders’ multi-asset investments and portfolio solutions business.
Mark Wharrier has joined BlackRock’s UK equity team as a director and portfolio manager. Wharrier joins from NewSmith Asset Management and will be co-fund manager of the BlackRock UK Income Fund and the BlackRock Income & Growth Investment Trust.
M&G has brought Invesco fund manager Claudia Calich on board its retail fixed interest team. Calich has 20 years’ experience in emerging markets investment and has spent much of the last decade in New York as head of emerging markets debt and senior portfolio manager at Invesco.
Fidelity Worldwide Investment has appointed Rob Marsden as investment director within its fixed income team. Marsden was previously senior investment manager at Coal Pension Trustees Investments.
