The Institute of Financial Planning has recruited Sam Rees-Adam as director of professional standards. Rees-Adam, who has been running her own consultancy business, was previously a director at the Financial Services Skills Council – now the Financial Skills Partnership.

Legal & General Network director of distribution Martin Noone is to become managing director as part of a group restructure. Noone joined L&G in 2007, having previously worked for Bupa and Cigna Healthcare. He replaces Duncan Crocker, who will move to another role within the group.

Former Living Time managing director Dave Harris has become the new managing director of equity release provider More 2 Life. Harris replaces Jon King, who left More 2 Life in September.

Premier Asset Management has appointed Neil Birrell (left) to replace outgoing chief investment officer Mike Jennings. Birrell has previous CIO experience, having held the role at Framlington. He joined Premier in January to run the Premier diversified fund, which he will continue to manage alongside his new responsibilities.

Investec investment director Jim Wood-Smith and chief investment strategist Henry Rising are joining Hawksmoor Investment Management in the new year. Rising will take  up the role of senior investment manager while Wood-Smith becomes head of research at Hawksmoor.

Pete Burtonshaw has left his role as interim head of strategic integration at Openwork to join pension and platform provider James Hay as chief operating officer. Burtonshaw spent nine months at Openwork and was previously head of platform development at Fidelity. James Hay has also recruited Paul Bagley as director of distribution development from Cofunds, where he was head of regional sales.

Former Aviva managing director of protection Richard Verdin (right) is joining reinsurer RGA UK Services on 1 January. He joins RGA in the role of chief marketing officer for the UK and Ireland.

Cofunds head of sales development Damian Smyth moves to Alliance Trust Savings on 1 December. As head of intermediary sales, Smyth will focus on growing Alliance Trust Savings’ intermediary business. He has spent the last 13 years in sales at Cofunds.

Threadneedle Investments has created a new role for Richard Vincent, (left) who left Skandia last year. As Thread-needle’s head of whole-sale solutions Vincent will develop the firm’s multi-asset investment solutions across the UK and global intermediary markets. He was previously business proposition director at Skandia.
