The FCA has appointed Julia Hoggett, managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, as head of investment banking at its supervision division. Hoggett, who was chief executive of DEPFA ACS Bank, will take up her new role in early May.
Private bank Brown Shipley has created a new role for its chief investment officer Peter Botham. As head of IFA investment. Botham will be responsible for creating and delivering Brown Shipley’s IFA offering. Senior fund manager Kevin Doran replaces Botham as CIO and will continue to run the Brown Shipley Sterling Bond fund.
Old Mutual Wealth vice-chairman Peter Mann is to leave the group to pursue new interests. Mann has spent the last 12 years at Old Mutual Wealth, comprising Skandia and Old Mutual Global Investors. He joined the group in 2001 when it acquired Bankhall, where Mann was chief executive.
Mann will stay with the business until the middle of this year to ensure a smooth handover of his responsibilities.
The National Association of Pension Funds has appointed Graham Vidler (pictured) as head of external affairs. Vidler, who was previously director of communications and engagement at the National Employment Savings Trust, will take up the role in late spring.
Cigna Insurance Services has replaced interim chief executive Alistair Hardie with Susan Stevenson, who takes the role on a permanent basis. Stevenson has been chief executive of Cigna’s Hong Kong business since 2011, having joined the company in 2009.
Henderson’s head of global property equities Patrick Sumner is to retire from the group in June after 34 years in the property industry. Sumner has spent the last 17 years at Henderson, having played a key role in the launch of the firm’s European, Asian and global property strategies. Henderson Horizon Pan European Property Equities fund manager Guy Barnard and Henderson Horizon Asia Pacific Property Equities fund Tim Gibson will take over from Sumner as co-heads of global property equities. The team has also been strengthened with the appointment of Nicolas Scherf as portfolio manager in London and Xin Yan Low as an analyst in Singapore.She previously spent 18 years at American Express.
JLT Employee Benefits acting head of investment consulting John Breedon has been handed the role permanently. Breedon was previously head of corporate consulting at the firm.
Katherine Jones has succeeded Chris Rhodes as Partnership’s director of investor relations. Jones joins from Phoenix Group Holdings, the FTSE250 closed life fund consolidator. She spent six years there, most recently as head of investor relations.
