Pension Corp insures Walthamstow Stadium pension scheme

Pension Corporation has signed a deal to insure the Walthamstow Stadium Limited Retirement Benefits Scheme.

Following the closure of the business, based around the former greyhound racecourse in East London, the pension scheme, which has assets of £19m, was shut to future accrual.
Pension Corporation partner Matt Barnes says: “I am delighted that we were able to help the trustee of the Walthamstow Stadium scheme arrive at a successful conclusion in securing their member benefits for the long term.

“We look forward to helping more trustees and sponsors transfer pension risk as the market continues to grow during the second half of 2009.”
