Paradigm appoints group strategy partner

Paradigm Group has appointed Mark Sutton to the newly-created position of group strategy partner.

Sutton joins Paradigm from Standard Life where he was part of the group distribution executive committee responsible for driving strategy of threesixty after Standard’s acquisition of the firm in 2010.

Paradigm says Sutton will work closely with other members of its senior team across the group’s brands.

Paradigm senior partner Paul Hogarth (pictured) says: “With Mark’s knowledge and experience he is perfectly placed to further develop and grow the business and I am pleased he is on board.”

Sutton says: “These are exciting times for Paradigm and I am very much looking forward to playing my part in its continued success.”

India Election Update

What a difference six months makes. Speaking in September last year, we had warned of ‘excessive pessimism’ afflicting the market’s perception of India. Since then, responsible central bank policy from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), alongside improving global growth, has meant that India’s macro environment is strengthening quickly. The current account deficit has shrunk, inflation is falling and the government has embarked on a heavy dose of much needed fiscal consolidation. As a result, the rupee has been one of the strongest global currencies this year while the market has touched all-time highs, rallying by more than 20 per cent (GBP) since September. This begs the question: are we now in a period of ‘irrational exuberance’? Not yet.
