The site, Compare for Good, has been launched by Oxfam with former IFA Ivan Massow as managing director.
The proposition is powered by beatthatquote.com and will ring fence at least two thirds of its entire revenue for the charity. The remainder of the income will be used for running and administration costs.
The site will also offer comparisons on loans, credit cards, general insurance and savings accounts.
Massow says: “Compare for Good is a unique way of raising money for charity on a long-term basis. I think this can be the next big thing and has the potential to raise millions of pounds for Oxfam while offering consumers the chance to find a bargain.”
Oxfam director of fundraising Cathy Ferrier says: “We’re always looking for innovative ways to raise money for our lifesaving work, especially during difficult economic times when the public find it harder to spare money for charity. This website means people can support Oxfam even when money is tight.”
Supporter Joan Collins, who was at the launch today pictured alongside Massow and Ferrier, says: “Compare for Good is a win-win opportunity for people to save themselves money while raising money for charity.”
