Origo launches agency service

Origo is offering a new online agency registration service to allow advisers to set up trading relationships with multiple providers using a single electronic application.

It says the Adviserwise Agency Registration Service should replace the paper-based agency registration process, where separate agency registrations are required for each provider.

Origo managing director Paul Pettitt says it will save time and ensure providers get valid and consistent applications.

He says: “I anticipate it will quickly become the industry standard and preferred method for directly authorised adviser firms to submit agency registration applications.”

Origo says the free online application allows users to easily view and sign terms of business for all participating product providers.

The service is available from the Adviserwise website. Adviserwise was launched in April last year by 14 sponsors, including Aegon Scottish Equitable, Friends Provident and Skandia.

Yvonne Goodwin Wealth Management adviser Yvonne Goodwin, who has been testing the service, says she welcomes the idea of a simplified registration process. She says: “I have applied to eight providers through the Adviserwise Agency Registration Service so far and have found the facility very easy to use. It made the process of applying much more straightforward, which has ultimately saved me time and effort.”
