Openwork confirms plans to convert 2Plan into network

Openwork has announced it is turning its national IFA 2Plan into a network, as revealed by Money Marketing earlier this month.

2Plan Wealth Management will support both registered individuals and appointed representatives and will be run by existing 2Plan chief executive Chris Smallwood (pictured).

Openwork, which first announced its plans to acquire 2Plan in September 2010, completed the deal in July.

The network model is now open and 2Plan has begun recruiting business.

Openwork chief executive Mary-Anne McIntyre says: “This is an exciting time for both Openwork and 2Plan and we look forward to growing the business together over the coming months and years.”

Chris Smallwood says: “As an IFA business which has rapidly developed a strong brand and reputation for professionalism among advisers, we are often approached by appointed representatives asking to use our services and technology.

“Until now our model has focused solely on RIs but we believe now is the right time to expand our proposition to include ARs as we seek to grow and develop the business in advance of, and beyond, the forthcoming introduction of the RDR.”

There is one comment at the moment, we would love to hear your opinion too.

  1. Does anyone know how this will differ from someone joining Openwork as an AR firm. I dont see the point of Openwork having a firm like this when they have AR’s already with them , what does this offer that Openwork themselves dont already offer ?
