Openwork poaches Axa HR director

Carrie Morris

Openwork has poached Axa’s Carrie Morris to serve as the network’s chief people officer.

Morris, who will be responsible for “all staff-related activity”, was European HR director for Axa’s IT division, and also brings a variety of experience outside of the advice market to the role.

She has worked at companies ranging from start-ups to organisations with 10,000-plus employees across telecoms, manufacturing, music and IT.

Morris’s 30-year HR career started at Zurich Financial Services where she spent 10 years, and she has subsequently worked for firms including Auxillis, MixRadio and Apetito.

Openwork chief executive Mark Duckworth says: “We are delighted that Carrie has joined our team as chief people officer. Her experience in supporting businesses and increasing employee engagement during times of growth will be invaluable to us as we continue to hone Openwork into an organisation that engenders happiness, purpose and pride in its people.”

Morris adds: “I’m thrilled to be joining Openwork at such an exciting time for the business. I’m passionate about supporting our people and driving high performing teams through improving leadership capability and engagement across the business. I look forward to bringing these skills to Openwork.”

Openwork currently has around 3,800 financial advisers operating across the UK. It operates as a directly authorised, multi-panel distribution network.

In January Openwork announced it added a “record” number of mortgage firms and advisers to its network in 2018.
