Openwork awards investment mandates to Jupiter and Baillie Gifford

Openwork is launching two equity funds to be managed by Jupiter Asset Management and Baillie Gifford via its investment company Omnis.

Jupiter, which has managed an emerging market equity fund for Omnis for two years, will now run the Omnis European Equity fund. It will be headed by Cedric de Fonclare, manager of the Jupiter European Special Situations fund.

Iain Campbell, who manages the Baillie Gifford Developed Asia Pacific fund, will now run the Omnis Asia Pacific Equity fund.

The funds will launch next month and will broadly follow the managers’ existing strategies. They will be used in Omnis’ multi-asset model portfolios.

Openwork chief executive Mark Duckworth says: “These two new funds, following the recent launch of the UK equity strategy managed by Neil Woodford, further demonstrate that Openwork has the scale and distribution power to partner with the UK’s leading fund managers in order to provide the best possible outcomes for customers.”

In January Openwork announced that Neil Woodford would be running a new UK equity fund launched by the advice network. The UK Growth and Income fund was launched to Openwork advisers from February.
