Openwork appoints new commercial development director

Openwork has appointed Mark Duckworth to the newly created position of commercial development director.

Duckworth joins Openwork on November 1 from Living Time, where he was distribution and partnerships director responsible for all sales distribution, strategy and key deals throughout the UK.

His main responsibilities will be to assume leadership of Openwork’s overall group and distribution strategy and to oversee the development of the network’s investment fund proposition. Duckworth will report directly to chief executive officer Martin Davis.

He has previously worked for Prudential, where he was distribution director for Europe and the Middle East, and AXA, where he was national sales manager.

Davis says: “In recent months we have been undertaking a review of our distribution strategy and engaging in extensive selection processes to find the right leaders to execute our plans. Mark brings with him extensive experience gained in a number of senior roles and he was the standout candidate to drive our group and distribution strategy.”

Openwork last month acquired 2plan Wealth Management in a bid to build its whole of market IFA capability ahead of the RDR.
