Openwork appoints ex-Honister director as recruitment head

Openwork has appointed former Honister business development director Billy Hewitt as recruitment director for Scotland.

Hewitt will report to business acquisition strategy director Keith Atkinson.

Openwork says Hewitt will engage with a significant number of ex-Honister advisers who are looking for a new firm after Honister went into administration last month.

Openwork has taken on around 60 former Honister advisers, mostly through its IFA arm 2Plan, and has rejected a further 30.

Atkinson says: “Billy has great experience in this market and will be a valuable addition to the team. Our policy is very much centred on recruiting quality advisers and Billy will play a key role in engaging with individuals and firms whose priorities are good advice and profitability.”

Chapters Financial director Keith Churchouse says: “I think this is a sensible move by Openwork. There were a lot of good quality individuals within Honister and I am sure Hewitt will endeavour to recruit as many of the best ex-Honister advisers into Openwork.”
